Meh. It's a bit pissy, alright. But I am aware that NewsTalk is a business - it's there to make money.

Whether they make a wise decision on how to make that money is one thing, but their decision it is. I've no illusions that NewsTalk owes its listeners anything like 'transparency' or 'accountability' yada-yada.

Perhaps, if the 53106 number fails to bring in sufficient funds (since oodles of people have sent in "this is my last text" messages), they might revert to the previous set-up.

Still, though, it's cool to hear some of the presenters voice their concerns (I heard Dunphy alright; and that email from Moncreiff is cool). I trust there won't be any "repercussions" for those presenters, but again it's entirely for the NewsTalk chiefs to decide.
