Just found a t-shirt I had from back in 1990 following the penalty shootout with Romania I used to use it as a nightdress when I was a tot. It says "Packie Sent 'Em Packin'" on it and his picture of Packie saving the peno etc. I'm now sitting out me back garden listening to "Put 'em under pressure" and having a bit of a nostalgia moment. What are your abiding (football) World Cup Memories? Mine is sitting on the floor in front of the TV for the penalty shootout and everytime Ireland scored my dad leaping out of the chair and screaming and picking me up and swinging me around. I was absolutely terrified! Other memory is sitting in the pub during the Ireland Spain match of '02 and trying to explain the offside rule to my friend and her mam in the dying minutes of the 2nd half. I should have been at home studying for Leaving Cert chemistry, but my priorities were elsewhere

my favourite world cup memory was 2002. i had organised this mad paintball outing (same place Seano was in on HQ some weeks back) called "Skirmish", wicklow. however, it was already booked, and it happened to be the same day as the Ireland V Spain match! We were the only group that went ahead and played, went in the morning, 3 other lads joined in with our group, who were champions in some paintball tournament. so it was a bit mad. there was about 15 of us in total. had a great time, and then saw the match in a pub with big screen and brill atmosphere. it was classic! Paintball, beer, and a cracking world cup match! a perfect day (besides the final result)
