so is dunphy leaving newstalk or is he staying i hope hes staying you've probably heard who newstalk want as his replacement. and now there interested in darcy? i have a feeling creiffo might be on the chopping block too.  |

Joe Duffy is too tabloid, I'd never, ever, ever listen to him by choice and I don't think anyone in my family or circle of friends would either.
Dunphy is likeable, far more than Duffy, part of his appeal with people who don't like him is the desire to hear him say something they disagree with so they can rant.
Joe Duffy doesn't have that, he's always going to be associated with "I need a lfe Line". He'll only appeal to the elderly ladies and people who already like him now. He wont be good on current events/news stories, which is what the breakfast presenter on Newstalk needs to be in order to compete with RTE 1.
The current guy Richard Aldus is pretty good, although unfortunately his being English will work against him as far as the station going national is concerned.
