surely you're familiar with *that* look that drug addicts have. It's seen exclusively on the faces of addicts.

It's seen exclusively on the faces of addicts. lol...yes I am. i know all the tell tale signs. my point was how does he know he has seen 14yr old's on crack cocaine. how does he not know it was heroin, glue, solvents, uppers, downers, fi, etc etc. you say *that* look that drug addicts have...well it all depends on what drug your talking about. not all drug addicts are heroin addicts. heroin being the most noticable of drug abuse on the streets because of the behavour.

Don't you think that maybe it is the demand for the drugs that is the problem? Surely that is part of the human condition, to want to get off our faces? I mean most of us drink, some others do different drugs. If legalisation were to be tried, it would have to be done internationally, to stop that drug business attraction thing. But I really don't know if there is any solution that really works, but I do know that prohibition doesn't work. Despite all the laws and all the money spent on enforcing those laws, anybody who wants any kind of drug can easily get it. Really I think we should liberalise the laws, maybe even legalise and try to deal with it as a medical problem. There are better ways to deal with addicts than imprisoning them where there is a ready supply of drugs, available on credit, that has to be paid for on release, thereby perpetuating the problem. If ALL drugs were legalised there would be carnage, but if only SOME are legalised, dealers simply change their product. There is no solution. I give up.
